The Fifth Annual Georgia Farm Stress Summit will take place on March 12, 2026, at Fort Valley State University. The Georgia Farm Stress Summit provides programming, information, and networking that creates and furthers awareness of the challenges our farm families and communities face, the impacts of those challenges upon mental health, safety, and well-being, and resources for supporting farming and rural communities. The day will include opportunities to hear various speakers, panel discussions with farmers and state agency leaders, attend breakout sessions, and participate in interactive activities.

  • Preconference Research Sharing Session | 1-2:45 PM: For the first time, a preconference session is available consisting of a two-hour, informal discussion and networking session about recent, current, and upcoming research related to farm and rural mental health, well-being, substance disorders, and safety. Researchers and students are invited to participate by sharing a short verbal synopsis of their research interests and studies. The session goal is to create more awareness of contemporary research and further future research collaborations.

  • Preconference Farm Tour | 3–5 PM: Immediately following the preconference research discussion, transportation will be provided from the FVSU Agricultural Technology Conference Center, 46 Camp John Hope Road, Fort Valley, GA, to Pearson Farm, where participants will experience a tour of this leading producer of Georgia peaches and pecans since 1885. On the way to Pearson Farm and on the return trip to the Ag Technology Center, participants will hear a presentation on the Community Resiliency Model (CRM), a set of simple stress-management tools anyone can use and share with others. The 2026 Georgia Farm Stress Summit will bring together farmers, farm families, health care providers, government leaders, agricultural advocates, agribusinesses, nonprofits and others committed to addressing farm stress in their rural communities. The summit will focus on connecting communities with resources and building strong cross-sector partnerships.

A limited number of free vendor slots are available. A 4-foot table for information display will be provided. Space is limited so elaborate large displays are not allowed. Pre-registration is required. Vendor set-up at the Pettigrew Center.

The Georgia Agricultural Wellness Alliance is now accepting abstract submissions for a poster session at the 2026 Farm Stress Summit. We are accepting submissions for up to 20 posters from faculty, students and other professionals. Please submit questions to FARMS@uga.edu.
